However, Medicare and many other insurance companies require that you meet certain criteria such as how often you stop breathing. A sleep study is your next step. This can be ordered by your primary care physician.
With sleep apnea being so prevelant most insurances cover part or all of the CPAP devices after a deductible has been met. You would have to check with the individual insurer to see what copay or addition costs may not be covered once you got established on the therapy.
