My girlfriend tells me that I twitch in my sleep. The twitch isn't centralized to one limb though. Sometimes it's my leg, sometimes my arm, sometimes my whole body. They are not large twitches though, just small ones that happen every few minutes when I'm sleeping.
Why does my body do this?

You could have Periodic Limb Movements of Sleep or Hypopneas/Respiratory Effort Related Arousals. Evaluation by a Sleep Medicine Specialist and an all night polysomnogram should help define what the issues are and help determine the appropriate treatment.
