Your out-of-pocket cost will vary depending on your insurance. If you call our office and ask to speak to our insurance specialist, she can take a look at your insurance coverage for you.
The cost of the Sleep Study varies dependent on your insurance and the type of study that you need.
The price before insurance contractual discounts is 1500.00 to 1470.00 for the actual sleep study. The professional cost which is the physician reading the study ranges from 200.00 to 400.00. Our costs are considerably lower than hospitals, as we are a free-standing facility and our reimbursement is at a lower rate. Should you have any other questions please feel free to forward them or call us.
It varies by location. A hospital lab is more.
As a clinic based facility, the charges and allowable amounts based on insurance contracting with us is much less than a hospital based facility. The average allowable amount for a sleep study without CPAP (sleep apnea is not found on the night of the sleep study) is about $800-1000. The average allowable amount for a sleep study with CPAP (sleep apnea is found) is about $1000-1200. Most insurance plans help cover the cost of a sleep study. Some plans simply have a co-pay for a sleep study and some have a percentage amount that the patient is responsible for. Our staff can help spell out what your plan specifically covers and how much a sleep study might cost you out of pocket. Consultation and follow up appointments with a provider are also covered by insurance plans usually just like any other doctors office visit. Each service is billed as a separate appointment.
