How can I get treated for sleep apnea without insurance?

This question was asked in Akron, Ohio on .
I am pretty certain I have sleep apnea but I don't have any insurance so I don't think I can afford a sleep study. I can't get more than 4 hours a sleep a night and it is severely affecting my job and my life overall. Can I get some sort of treatment even though I don't have insurance? I need help.

Talk to your primary care physician about options. You first need to be properly diagnosed with sleep apnea before treatment options can be given.

Sleep studies, along with most medical procedures and studies, can be done without insurance but depending on the service can be expensive. As sleep studies are performed in office but are an overnight procedure monitored by a technician and/or a doctor, please call the center for pricing information.

If you do not have health insurance you do have other options. Credit cards are usually accepted in medical offices. Also CareCredit, Springstone are dedicated credit cards for health care services. You should calculate how much your sleep problems are affecting your work performance versus the fee to diagnose and treat your possible sleep apnea.

If you don't have insurance call different sleep study providers and ask for the cash discount price. SomnoDiagnostics routinely provides cash discounts. This may not be the policy of other facilities, however there should be a provider willing to accommodate you.
